A string of events have been postponed and services closed as a result of the coronavirus.

• Northshore Medical and Aesthetics Centre is open with limited physical interaction. It has launched a virtual consultation platform so patients can still be seen for general consultations and receive information about Covid-19. If patients are well and want to physically come into the office, they will be pre-screened at the entrance: asked questions regarding their current health status and travel history; temperatures will be taken on every patient; if cleared, patient will be asked to sanitise hands prior to sitting in the spaced out waiting area; any guests accompanying the patient will be asked to remain outside unless the patient is a minor or elderly. • People’s in Victoria Street and at the KEMH Acute Care Wing has introduced dedicated hours for seniors, expectant mothers and immune compromised customers, from 8am to 9am on Wednesdays, and 10am to 11am on Sundays, effective March 21. Apart from those times, it remains open to the public 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 6pm at weekends.

• Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and its gift shop has closed to the public today. It is expected to reopen on April 6.

• The Transport Control Department is closed to walk-in customers. People required to renew their private vehicle licenses by March 31 can contact their insurance provider online or by phone or visit etcd.gov.bm/index_ssl.htm. The period to renew a heavy truck license has been extended to April 30.

• Heard Chapel AME Church has cancelled Bible study until further notice.

• American Airlines and WestJet are temporarily suspending flights to the island, effective immediately, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

AA inbound flights to and from Bermuda from Miami and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport are suspended through March 23 with service expected to resume March 24.

WestJet is suspending commercial service for all international flights, including to and from Toronto to Bermuda, for 30 days starting midnight this Sunday.

Remaining outbound flights tomorrow, March 18, for travellers wishing to depart the island are:

• Air Canada to Toronto departing at 2.15pm

• British Airways to London Gatwick departing at 8.55pm

• Delta to Atlanta departing at 3.45pm

• Delta to Boston departing at 2.30pm

A transport spokesman added: “Travellers are reminded that despite these flight suspensions, American Airlines continues to provide weekly service from Philadelphia and LaGuardia (NYC) on Saturdays only, and Air Canada continues providing service between Bermuda and Toronto on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.”

The date and place of the rescheduled hearing, as well as the dates of subsequent substantive hearings, will be decided once concerns about public health and wellbeing have abated.
